2013 Explorer Sport

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 2:47 am

Ford unveiled its 2013 Explorer Sport as a new addition to the Explorer family and it’s the first-ever performance version.

Unlike the previous generation’s Explorer Sport that was a trim level fairly near the bottom, the 2013 Sport is the top-of-the-line trim in the current version.

Identifying it from the crowd is relatively easy because it has a spate of Sport-only cues. For instance, it’s the first Explorer to have the name stretched across the hood. It sits on 20-inch premium painted aluminum wheels (embossed with the Sport name) and all-season BSW tires. It also has blacked-out headlamp and taillamp treatments, black roof rack rails, side-view mirror skull caps, a special grille of low-gloss sterling gray mesh with contrasting ebony high-gloss bars, a lift-gate appliqué and subtle Sport and EcoBoost badges at the rear.

Explorer Sport is available in four exterior colors: Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat, White Platinum Metallic Tricoat, Tuxedo Black Metallic and Ingot Silver Metallic.

The vehicle is four-wheel-drive with a terrain management system (with settings for sandy, snowy, rutted mud and hill descent). It has a 5,000-pound towing capacity. Furthermore, total cargo volume (behind the first row) is 80.7 cubic feet. Curb weight is 4,859 pounds.
It’s living in a rough neighborhood. Its chief competition is the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango R/T & Hemi engines and Land Rover Range Rover Sport. It bests them all in fuel economy.
Handling on the new Explorer Sport was designed to be first rate. The chassis has been specially reinforced, making the vehicle stiffer and improving its road feel. It also brings a solid-mounted electric power-assisted steering rack with improved feel that provides more responsiveness to on-road and off-road driving. Larger brakes beget shorter stopping distances and better performance while driving.
The interior might as well have come from fashion stores on Rodeo Drive. It’s inspired by designer accessory fashions. Charcoal black leather-trimmed seating is available with and without contrasting sienna inserts. Stitching is emphasized to lend a handcrafted appearance while highlighting Explorer Sport’s sculptured seats. It also has unique steering wheel stitching, a technical look to instrument and door panel appliques, unique Sport logo floor mats and illuminated scuff plates.
It also contains dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, 10-way power driver’s seat with power recline and lumbar, six-way power passenger seat with recline and lumbar, first-row heated seats, rear-view camera, SYNC with MyFord Touch driver connect technology and a Sony premium audio system with HD radio and 12 speakers.
The new Explorer Sport has a wide array of options as well, including active park assist, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, inflatable rear seat belts, power-fold mirrors, dual-panel moon roof, power lift gate and a host of other individual preferences. Pricing is not yet available. The Explorer Sport is manufactured in Chicago and will arrive in dealerships later this year.

There isn’t much the Explorer hasn’t accomplished, aside from circling in orbit or turning into a robot ala Transformers. Other than that, the Explorer has been seen on just about every landscape in every climate, rolling along with precision, style, and performance. What best to compliment this ride’s impressive image than by scoring big with a Ford Explorer Grill? 2012 Dodge Charger

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 8:01 am

The Charger’s styling suggests a sporty demeanor, but its size also makes it a refined and relaxing choice for long drives.  “The seats could pass for living-room furniture,” suggested Nelson’s co-driver. “They are extremely comfortable hour after hour after hour and are one of the qualities that make the Charger a great long-distance cruiser.”
Add to that list attributes like great visibility, space to stretch out, a seriously quiet cabin, and adaptive cruise control. Unfortunately, the Charger’s adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning system showed signs of flakiness during the 550-mile drive home. Several times the Charger warned of imminent crashes with nothing but an open road in front of it. Other times an error message flashed in the instrument panel that the sensor had stopped functioning altogether. We initially wrote it off as an effect of the snow, salt, and road grime that coated the Charger’s nose, but a thorough washing was followed by more errors.
A trip to the dealer confirmed that the front sensor was indeed malfunctioning, so the service department ordered a replacement part under warranty. It wasn’t until we returned three weeks later and the service technicians started the installation that they determined the mounting bracket was out of alignment, leading the dealer to conclude the sensor — mounted in the lower grille opening — had been struck by an object. That discovery would typically shift the liability from Chrysler’s bank account to our wallet, but our dealer finished the repair under warranty, saving us from a bill in the neighborhood of $1500.

E&G CLASSICS® - Fine Mesh Grille

If those past two compliments seem like faint praise, copy editor and Chrysler buff Rusty Blackwell had nothing but glowing approval when he got behind the wheel and later reminded the staff why he cast an All-Star vote for the Dodge. “I don’t just like the Charger — I love it,” he wrote in the logbook. “Its styling is fantastic, putting it head and shoulders and arms and hips above its AARP-eligible competition. The Charger is a spacious, attractive, stylish, muscular, affordable, comfortable, sporty sedan that embodies the best aspects of American cars.”
Everyone has noticed a Dodge Charger burning past them at one point or another, and it always gets our attention. It is just one stylishly powerful ride.  Updating the front only adds to this mean-machine’s profile, which is why Dodge Charger Grills have become one of the most popular custom upgrades around. Fashionable yet menacing, a Dodge Charger Grill displays personal style to an area that is all too crucial: the front-end. From mesh masterpieces to straight-up billet icons that sparkle with steely resolve, CARiD.com offers every style Dodge Charger Grill for you to choose from.

Only the most premier quality is what’s going to get it done so that’s exactly what we offer – always. With just a simple installation and a touch of personal style, your Charger has the potential to appear even more dominant than it already does.

The Jeep Wrangler Gets Investigated

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 8:07 am

At this point in time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have received eight reports regarding the Jeep Wrangler and fires.   The complaints that were made all concerned 2010 model year SUVs and all fires originated from the same area.  With the blazes occurring from under the engine compartment, the Office of Defects Investigations will be working with the Wrangler’s parents, Chrysler LLC, to inspect the engine and its cooling system as well as the automatic transmission.
Since the investigation only began a few days ago, it is still in the “open” phase.  Depending on what information is brought back, a full-blown recall could ensue.  Right now, the NHTSA is in the middle of a Preliminary Evaluation on the Wranglers.

GMC Terrain Grille

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 3:44 am

The 2012 GMC Terrain  ranks 2 out of 20 Affordable Compact SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 29 published reviews and test drives of the GMC Terrain, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

2012 GMC Terrain

The 2012 GMC Terrain has a high base price, but buyers get a stand-out exterior, a standard rearview camera and plenty of passenger space.
Unlike most compact SUVs, which have round, simple exteriors and a bland list of standard interior features, the 2012 GMC Terrain has rugged, truck-like styling that suggests parents are headed off-road rather than to the grocery store, and comes packed with standard features like Bluetooth and a rearview camera. On top of that, the GMC Terrain has a lot of passenger space, and a sliding second row that increases leg or cargo room.  The Terrain does have less cargo space than competitors like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, but if you need plenty of room for your teenagers, it may be a compromise you’re willing to make.
Reviewers have pinpointed the Terrain’s most obvious flaws: engine performance and price. The Terrain is so pricey because it comes with a lot of standard features, but reviewers hope that GMC will tweak the Terrain’s standard four-cylinder engine and optional V6. The four-cylinder is underpowered, and test drivers even say the V6 engine’s horsepower is misleading.

Chrysler 200 Grills

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 6:50 am

Chrysler 200 Grills. Name changes can often be a precursor to future success.  We haven’t been very fond of the Sebring, a car grand in concept but cursed by the cheapness of its execution. Imagine our elation to discover in the new 200 a car that delivers on the style it promises, both in the quality of its interior and in the way it goes down the road. Even as its competition has become more cost-conscious, the 200 shows us that refinement is still possible in this market segment.

Though the 200′s exterior styling retains the Sebring’s basic form, new sheet metal from the front doors forward plus nicely redone front and rear fascias with LED daytime running lights and taillights give the car a more sophisticated look. A subtly lowered ride height, wider track and available 18-inch alloy wheels also give it a somewhat sportier stance.

Each model on the Chrysler roster has a story to tell, a tale of American innovation and class.  It is the refinement within every Chrysler detail why the brand is so revered, and that hasn’t changed. In fact, the legend is only growing and the industry is trying to keep up! CARiD.com is always one step ahead of the rest, especially when it comes to Chrysler Grills. We feature an enormous inventory of Chrysler Grills that provide the luxurious accent no one can turn their back on! Sparkling Stainless Steel and Polished Chrome are available in most Chrysler Grills so you have the choices you need. From the 300 to the Sebring, every custom desire you have is met with CARiD.com. Asanti®, T-Rex, Precision®, E&G Classics® and more are always on hand with a variety you can get creative with!
So many companies make hollow promises and wind up delivering shoddy quality that chips, falls apart, and doesn’t last. CARiD.com is respected around the world for the lifelong quality brought to you by the most reputable manufacturers around. We’ll give you the knockout luxury and style you need. You can also count on the precise OEM fit every time, as well. Just stick with us, and we’ll get you the Custom Grille everyone falls in love with!

Mini Introduces Two Special Editions

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 8:20 am

Mini has introduced two special-edition Coopers, the Mini Baker Street and the Mini Bayswater. The company says the models were made to spread London’s signature style in the year the country hosts the Olympic Games.
The Baker Street package is available only on the base Cooper, while the Bayswater package can be had with Cooper or Cooper S underpinnings.
The Baker Street edition, named after the street that the fictional Sherlock Holmes lived on, wears gray paint with black hood stripes that spread out in a “V” shape. The twin-spoke, 16-inch wheels are painted in gloss black with matching exterior mirror caps. Peppermint white and midnight black are also offered as exterior colors. “Baker Street” lettering sits by the side markers.
The interior is redone with more gray, while the seats get a diamond pattern. The floor mats, gearshift and handbrake get light-gray contrast stitching. The door sills bear “Baker Street” lettering.
The Mini includes the Pepper Pack, which adds air conditioning, an onboard computer, a leather steering wheel, the chrome package, fog lights and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. Power comes from Mini’s standard 1.6-liter engine, which delivers 121 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque.
The Mini Bayswater comes in kite blue metallic and has 17-inch light-alloy Sandblast wheels with high-gloss black surfaces and machined edges. Eclipse grey and midnight black are also available on the exterior. Like the Baker Street, the Bayswater has racing stripes on the hood and unique mirror housings that differentiate the car from other Minis.

Each MINI Cooper that skirts along the blacktop has a story that defines its existence. We already know that they are retro-classy subcompacts that can fit anywhere and do anything. We also know how efficient they are when it matters most. But too many times, these neo-classic rides clone each other, as their drivers tend to just leave them as is. While every MINI has fistful of style that was built in, you know you need more. We·ve got the MINI Cooper Grills that do the trick. Why not make your unique package even more refined and luxurious? No other upgrades can do what MINI Grills can do  that isn’t a secret. CARiD.com keeps you in the loop with the unrivaled selection of front-end supremacy that separates your MINI even further from the pack!
CARiD.com features all the top-names from around the world and MINI Cooper Grills are no exception. Dodge Grills

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 5:22 am

2011 Dodge Charger  – Review. Reborn with the help of some Daimler running gear, the 2005 Charger neatly stitched itself back to the 1970s muscle cars that still give the chicken skin to car followers and daydreamers. It’s as if the 25 years in between never happened. No Reagan revolution. No NASCAR explosion. No Omni pollution.
With the 2011 Charger, Dodge has gone even more overboard. Not all the change in the Charger is quite so graphic, but the Charger’s new flares and filigrees “pop” on camera and strike a deep masculine nerve, like finding out Catholic girls’-school uniforms are suddenly back in style. The Charger shouts out for your attention; the front end tilts dizzyingly forward like a Leaning Tower of Crosshairs; the headlamps have such angry eyebrows you might need to apologize first, and ask why later. Dodge says it’s “ready to attack the road”; maybe a restraining order is in order. Dodge is the kind of name that when heard, a few images immediately swarm to the center of your mind. Scorching supercharged adventures. Rugged, uncompromising toughness. And of course, a taste of the good life where nothing matters but you and the blacktop in front. Your Dodge is important to you. It’s also a showpiece. And one thing we all know about Dodge drivers is that they don’t like to sit back and wait for ideas to come to them. They are definitely a “take charge” kind of people. This is never more evident than in the selection of Dodge Grills that are available to the masses. The classy, luxurious implications are backed by the increased defense that separates custom excellence from OEM expectations. This becomes increasingly important the more you care about your ride. For most enthusiastic Dodge drivers, this process is a must.
Dodge Grills don’t fit a certain kind of mold. CARiD.com offers a selection of Dodge Grills that is in high-demand the world over. We concentrate on the kind of fashion-sense and long-lasting durability that all Dodge drivers are after, regardless of model. It doesn’t matter if you burn up with the Challenger or throw down with the Charger, there are Dodge Grills available for most models and drivers. Find your new look. Go for the custom power that reinforces your Dodge’s personality.
Whether you’re are cruising around the neighborhood or speeding up on the highway, a proper billet grille is the front-end accessory which makes you noticeable. Attention-grabbing and bold, billet grilles promise extraordinary look and exquisite style that instantly separate you from the crowd. They are manufactured from stellar materials, such as everlasting stainless steel and aluminum, using technologies of tomorrow to ensure precise fit and timeless service. Chevy Grills

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 2:42 am

In the subcompact market, things like standard aluminum wheels are big news. Guess what? The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic has standard aluminum wheels. Honestly, we really like that. But in bigger news, Chevy’s forthcoming econobox is actually fun to drive.  This is an about-face compared with the outgoing Aveo, which traded exclusively on its bargain-basement price. The Sonic, on sale this fall, seeks to recruit buyers with quality, features, and—to borrow a phrase overused by German car companies—driving pleasure.
A brief disclaimer: Our driving exposure was limited to preproduction prototypes in one configuration (1.4-liter turbo, manual transmission, five-door) on an improvised circuit at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana. In other words, we won’t be able to give you a definitive review until we get more time in a finished production car. But so far the worst thing about Chevy’s new subcompact is the Sonic name. There isn’t much wrong with the actual word, but so many other items in popular culture (fast-food drive-ins, video-game hedgehogs, Seattle’s former basketball team) come more readily to mind than “affordable American car.”

CARiD.com offers the largest selection of Chevy Grills for more models than anybody else. Sounds simple enough, doesn’t it? Whether you’re a down-home trucker who is in the mood for some searing protection or a new-age cruiser who wants some flash and dazzle, we come to play – and we want to serve you right. Whatever your style or taste, you’ll find the glittering piece of front-end royalty you’re in need of. We make it happen by ensuring all of our drivers that they’re going to get nothing but the highest quality in existence. The next step is easy: we give you discount prices to top it all off! Chevy makes American classics. Chevy Grills only enhance the image. Maybe you’re into subtle elegance. Perhaps you prefer explosive, racing-inspired suggestion. It makes no difference. 2012 Buick Enclave

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 4:04 am

The 2012 Buick Enclave ranks 1 out of 24 Affordable Midsize SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 60 published reviews and test drives of the Buick Enclave, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
The 2012 Buick Enclave is a comfortable, luxurious and capable family hauler. Just don’t expect particularly nimble handling or brisk acceleration. Reviewers say the 2012 Buick Enclave packs a surprising number of standard features and offers a quiet, refined interior that’s rare for an affordable midsize SUV. They even compare its upscale interior and composed ride with the Lexus RX 350. That’s high praise for a vehicle that isn’t considered a luxury SUV.
Though reviewers are impressed with the Enclave’s interior accommodations, they aren’t excited about what’s under the hood. They say this SUV’s engine is up to the task of hauling up to eight people and their stuff, and has smooth handling and a comfortable ride. But shoppers looking for some fun driving dynamics in their family vehicle should look elsewhere because the Enclave is tuned more for relaxation than excitement.
Overall, most automotive journalists conclude that the 2012 Buick Enclave should be on the shopping list of anyone who’s looking for an SUV that will chauffer their family in comfort. In this department, the Enclave is a top choice in a hotly competitive segment. Buick stands for American power and luxury. That should be a signal for all Buick drivers, as their grilles need to make that very same statement. The front-end of your ride is a crucial element. It is what attracts, protects, and sets you apart. The responsibility comes down to making sure you hook up with the top-quality Buick Grills that look great and last forever. Narrow your choices down from there. Maybe you’re gunning for some rock-solid expression. Perhaps you’d just like a taste of elegance fastened to the front. Regardless of your style, CARiD.com will help get you where you want to go. Our name-brand selection of Buick Grills come to you comprised of the finest materials on the planet. That’s what lasts and that’s what you deserve!

GMC News

Filed under: Uncategorized — billetgrilles @ 9:52 am

Owners of the new 2012 GMC Acadia crossover vehicle can be assured that their selection of GMC’s full-size crossover will cost them less to own over time than competitor models.
ALG, the industry benchmark for residual values and depreciation data, awarded Acadia the 2012 Residual Value Award today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The award indicates that after three years of ownership, Acadia will be worth a higher percentage of its original sales price than any vehicle in its segment, including Toyota Highlander and Ford Explorer.
Resale value is widely regarded as one of the most important vehicle purchase considerations because it can literally save consumers thousands of dollars over the life of the vehicle.
“Acadia stands out from the competition by combining features that you would expect from a luxury brand with rugged styling, a roomy interior and a fuel-efficient V6 engine,” said Raj Sundaram, ALG spokesman. “These attributes were major factors in helping it claim the top spot in the full-size utility vehicle segment.”
Acadia and its stable mate, the 2012 GMC Terrain smaller SUV, also earned Consumers Digest “Best Buy” awards in their respective segments.
With innovative technologies like IntelliLink infotainment coming to Terrain later in 2012 and GM’s innovative front center air bag debuting as standard equipment on Acadia in 2013, both vehicles are well-positioned to continue attracting consumers to GMC. As of October, one of every two Acadia and Terrain buyers this year was coming from a non-GM brand.

From the Yukon Denali to the Envoy to the Sierra and on down the line, GMC vehicles always seem to take on a personality of their own. This leaves a duty to the drivers of such machines to get involved in the process as much as possible, because their own personal style needs to shine through. Nothing makes the case for this ideal quite like
